A Little About This Trip
Three days in Barcelona gives you the city’s essential Gaudí sights, a full Gothic Quarter and beach day, and one final adventure that matches the trip you want! 🌈 Start with the Sagrada Família, Casa Batlló, and La Pedrera, then spend day two eating your way from Jon Cake to La Boqueria before winding down beside the water in Barceloneta. I would make room for the Sagrada Família tower—the spiral staircase beside the ongoing construction was one of my Barcelona highlights.
For day three, choose Montserrat if you want mountain scenery and a complete change of pace, or stay in Barcelona for Park Güell and the FC Barcelona Museum. ⛰️ Park Güell’s mosaics and skyline views are beautiful, so the city option still feels like a proper finale. 🦎 If you only have a weekend, use my 2-day Barcelona itinerary. For El Born and more art, step up to the 4-day route or the dedicated art and history itinerary.

Before You Go to Barcelona
Three days is the sweet spot for a first visit. Day one is all Gaudí in the Eixample: Sagrada Família, Casa Batlló, La Pedrera. Day two winds through the Gothic Quarter and ends on the beach. Then day three is yours to play with — take the trip out to Montserrat, or stay in the city for Park Güell and the FC Barcelona Museum.
Head to Montserrat if you want a change of scenery — it’s about an hour northwest, and between the ride up, the abbey, La Moreneta and time on the ridge, that’s your whole day. Don’t fancy the travel time? The city option gives you Park Güell in the morning and the FC Barcelona Museum in the afternoon, which is the better call if you’re travelling with a football lover ⚽. One thing to know about Park Güell: entry is timed and there’s no re-entry, so head in when you’re ready to stay.
Start with timed tickets for Sagrada Família, Casa Batlló and La Pedrera, since those three stops shape your Gaudí day. Once you choose your final-day route, reserve either Montserrat or the Park Güell option separately rather than buying both. 🎟️
